Update on my mom

Thank you to all those who have been asking how my mother is doing.  She is home as of Saturday, and doing remarkably well.  She is using the walker to get around, is able to get in and out of bed quite well, and in good spirits.  We have arranged homecare to come in several times a week to help with cleaning, personal care, and laundry (the washer and dryer are in the basement), starting Wednesday.  Lois has been busy arranging to have grab-bars installed in the bathroom and taking care of other safety issues around the house.

In the meantime, Dad has finally gotten a date for his knee replacement surgery: March 14.  He now has a walker of his own to help in getting around right now.
In related news, Mom and Dad are enjoying a book they received for Christmas: "Getting Old Ain't for Wimps" by Karen O'Connor.
I'm thankful for Mom and Dad and hope they are both back on their feet in coming months.
