PEI, Day 7

Sunday.
A while back, Bart Gragtmans, who pastors Lighthouse Baptist Church in Souris, PEI, sent me a letter. The church, which was begun as a new church plant just a few years ago, was having a chartering service, formally welcoming members as an independent Baptist church. As it turned out, we were already planning on being on the Island, so we made plans to attend the service. It was a little more than an hour and a half drive up to the east side of the island, well worth it to participate in the service as a delegate, hear some good preaching, and enjoy a potluck outside after church. An afternoon service followed and we met some new friends.

After we left the church in the afternoon, we drove a few kilometers further on and went to East Point, the tip of the island, to see the lighthouse there. There was a guided tour which we took to the top floor, but Sydonyia and the boys (and the guide!) couldn't make it up the ladder to the lantern room. I went up and took some pictures and enjoyed the view from the top. It was a great experience. Check out the rest of the pictures in our album.

After we left East Point, we drove back through Charlottetown and stopped for supper at... East Side Mario's. We also had to pick up a few things at the drugstore -- and while we were in Shoppers, we ran into Mark Reid, a friend who pastors in Charlottetown. It was good to chat with him for a while before we had to head "home" to the cottage.
